Hello everyone. I recently bought a audio interface and on the back of it, it has a L and R speaker input. Now my question is how would I use both the left and right speaker while using it? Thank you all in advance. Also I'm new to this forum so if I'm missing something or if someone has already posted this problem please let me now.

If something has Left and Right outputs, that means they are intended to be sent to something like an analog mixer or home theater system that uses left and right inputs. If it has left and right inputs, it's the same idea in reverse, the thing you feed it must have the inputs as independent left and right channels.

So if I were to buy a set of speakers in a store or online how would I know if they have dedicated left and right audio outputs. Thank you

Oh, those are actually intended to drive monitor speakers (eg powered individual speakers that have a 1/4" TRS jack) You can also just get a 1/4" to RCA to use like a surround receiver, or you can buy cheap speakers, you may just need to get two 1/4" jacks to RCA, and then RCA to 1/8" TRS to connect those.

You're not required to use monitor speakers, they're just basically a way to connect a line-level output to an externally amplified audio device. It uses those jacks because musical instruments typically use them. Think about guitars and guitar amps.

Oh I wouldn't have a clue. The reason I'm using it is because when I plugged my speakers into my motherboard audio port they didnt play any sound so I was confused. Thank you so much for the help I really appreciate it!

So you bought what is basically a musical instrument computer interface to do that?

Buy something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Gold-Plated-Copper-6-35mm-Stereo-Adapter/dp/B07G59NMWF

719qVEpZqRL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

Then connect the RCA jacks to your stereo/surround system. If you don't have a stereo/surround system, then you'll probably need one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Splitter-Compatible-Computer-Multimedia/dp/B00ZKM3SHK/

61RbIIGk7jL._SL1300_.jpg

The latter one would be to connect to presumably the powered speakers you already have.

Or you can do this:

https://www.amazon.com/Poyiccot-Stereo-Female-Splitter-35FM-2x635M/dp/B017IKKN3I/

My god you are helpful. As of right now I just have a sound bar with an aux cord. So I could get the 3rd option and it should be just fine? I do plan on upgrading my speakers soon just looking for the right ones.

Yep, as long as the thing connected is self-amplified (eg it has a volume knob, or a remote to change the volume, and is plugged into the AC in some way it's amplified.)

The third option is the most direct option if that's what the sound bar has on it.
