I don't think a VA panel should have any backlight bleed

Pretty sure all monitors have some level of backlight bleed if you're talking about standard VA, IPS or TN panels. Micro and Mini LED and OLED monitors wouldn't have backlight bleed due to the design/tech.

 

As for whether that is normal will depend on what you have. I've seen worse bleed than that before but since you have a curved monitor 1440p and 144 Hz it's probably not a cheap unit so probably shouldn't have that bad light bleed unless it was just bad to begin with. I would suggest looking for reviews of your monitor to see if yours is abnormal for that model.

because if i was shown those images without any associating panel type 'label' i would say thats an IPS.
