If the ddr4 ram is not listed on the motherboards manufacturer website would that affect booting?

Got it working... the cpu just need to be resented.

You should be fine with any, 3rd gen Ryzen isn't that picky about that, only if you use slower than 2666mhz then you might have a performance hit

Its may not run at speeds/timings  spec'ed out for the kit. Also if you do run into an issue. the MB manufacturer wont help with troubleshooting once they discover it.
