This image should help. 9m should work perfectly fine on a high speed hdmi 2.0 or better cable. although weirdly "premium hdmi" is good for less distance than high speed or even regular hdmi

Hey Everyone. I have wondering if the length of a HDMI Cable Affect the HZ, i'm not talking about 4k, 8k, 2k, and all these fancy resolutions, i'm just talking normal 1080p, and then being able to run 144hz, it's a HDMI 2.0 i have, that is 7-9m. Maybe this is a pretty stupid question, i don't know, but i really couldn't find an answer on the internet, all people are just talking about resolutions, and not HZ.

Long cables can have signal loss, but that’s very long cables. 7-9 meters should have no issues.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

What does "Signal Loss" mean? I obviously know what it means, but is it "loss" in resolution, input lag, delay, hz?

My understanding is that it can become unstable and have some flickering or random glitch.

Yeah okay. I should've also have mentioned that the "originally" one is 5-6m, and then i have an extender that is 5m, plugged in to the originally one, and i don't know if it makes the signal better, or worse to have an extender? And the extender is just a normal one, not a fancy one (both are still HDMI 2.0).

By extender do you mean a female to male cable? If so, it should still work. You can always try it though and as long as your computer gives you the option of the higher refresh rate, it works.

Yep, exactly what i ment. It's actually because that i'm just preparing to the get the new Xbox that's gonna run 120fps, and i just couldn't find out which limit's there is exactly and more, because all people are talking about when discussing length of cable is being able run to 4k, 8k and i just got confused, so thanks for the help!
