Thoughts on Clear Linux

Considering the OS is backed by Intel, it's surprising how few I've heard of it or can find about it. Is it not an OS for consumers/gamers? Does steam even work?

It does, and Clear has been shown to often have better graphics performance than other distributions. It's not really a newbie friendly distribution though and many of the performance benefits depend on having Intel hardware.

Does an amd system work well? Cpu/gpu?

It works with an AMD cpu but again you'll have almost none of the benefits. The GPU you use is irrelevant.

not necessarily, AMD actually benefits from ClearOS.

I did say almost as you can see in those tests it just trades blows with other distributions.
