I have a molex cable plugged into my power supply, but have no idea what to plug this cable into?

I also have to stray cables that i'm unsure what to connect these with. A "SATA" power cable and another cable of similar size, with a similar tip/ending to the SATA cable but it doesn't have a name or code that i can see on it.

You only need to use the cables your components require.

That probably means:

Motherboard: 24 pin and 8 pin

Videocard: depends. Could be no cable(s). could be a 6 pin, a 6+2 pin or a combination of either.

2.5" SSD/HDD/Optical drive: need a SATA cable

Other parts (like fan/rgb controllers, cases, etc.) may need power too, but that depends on what you have.

It's not uncommon to have a few 'leftover' plugs not used by any parts.

Hello!

I'm a first time PC builder and i'm stuck with cables.

I'm so close to finishing my first build, please help me guys!

I can attach pictures of the cables if this helps me find an answer?

Thanks heaps!

plug cpu and motherboard power first. then plug gpu power. the molex is used to dvd writers etc. sata power goes to drives (HDD and SSD)
