Showing different memory speed

So I wanted to add a stick of RAM to my PC and went on to find the RAM speed. I checked the forum and used the task manager and the app CPU-Z. problem is they show different value. I have a single stick of 4GB DDR4 RAM onboard.

your ram is running at 2133MHz effectively, but the true frequency is around 1067

because it's DDR (double data rate), where a signal is transmitted with both the rising and falling edge of a clock cycle.

thus effectively doubling it

 

though your ram is rated 2400MHz, so you might want to enable XMP/DOCP in the bios, or manually set it to 2400

Was it set to lower speed? Cause I didnt do it.

You didn't enable XMP, so the RAM runs at it's base speed of 2133MHz.

2133mhz is the default speed of the RAM

every ram when plug into a system runs at 2133mhz, unless specified otherwise

 

this is to ensure it works with your system, before the user changes the settings

It should be an option in your BIOS, you should see different profiles.

Enable XMP Profile in your BIOS. It will set the speed to 2400 (1200Mhz).

Guys is there anything that wont let me find that XMP or DOCP setting?? I went through the whole bios also updated it but still couldn't find it......
