If a hard drive is dying than it will start to read and/or write information improperly, and if this is happening there is essentially nothing that can realistically be done due to the fragile nature of the components. Unfortunately Hard drives are a fickle thing that can be broken by anything from a gentle breeze to heavy read/write cycles and frequency to of course sock damage via physical stress (think dropping a laptop) . If you are having trouble with a drive than you might be able to mediate it by reformatting and possibly scanning for bad sectors with some kind of free program, however speaking from experience, it is only a mater of time before issues begin to occur again.

It's not dying. I have 2 of these in 2 different systems, I also have 2 friends with one. Any game on these thing run terrible for about 10 minutes after loading a map.

If you have spare RAM you could set up something like ramcache so your drive isn't being read from as frequently. You should check the HDD though to make sure it isn't dying.

That might help me, would likely not help my friend. It's strange, I think its has something to do with transferring info from the HD par to the ssd part but bot for sure.

It could be. I’ve also had stuttering in games that are stored on a hard drive before. But if it’s massive consistent stuttering on your firecuda I would look at possibly RMA’ing it.

I think it might be a detective with all firecuda. Didnt know if anyone had one with the same experience or not.

I have one in my ps4 pro and have never had an issue. Might be different since its not windows. On windows I always just make my own hybrid drive with a separate ssd.
