a 6 core 12 thread cpu. this is the best way to get rith of any performance issues aka stutters and huge frame drops.
but that will be difficult seeing how you have a pretty old motherboard. you could look into selling it and the cpu and then buying a b450 tomahawk max with a 3600. that would drastically improve your perfromance. if you have money to burn you can always look into intels side as well aka MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Plus with a 10600k that would give you more performance in gaming. but it costs way more. 

prices here in the netherlands: 
b450 tomahawk + 3600                          = 302.80
MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Plus + 10600k =  448

this is of course just an example. search what best fits you  you can look at other brand motherboards. but make sure with ryzen that they can support the 3000 series out of the box. alternatively you can also get them with a 2600/2600x but it performs worse of course. or a 2700x and get 8 cores and 16 threads and be good for a little while
