First Gaming/Streaming Rig - Need Advice

Budget (including currency): £1400

Country: United Kingdom (England)

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming (Most likely Minecraft), Streaming, Video Editing, Work.

Other details: Only need 1 Monitor, don’t really need High refresh rate. 1080p will be fine. Don’t need any other peripherals. Need OS = Windows. Would be nice if it had a bit of RGB action. Upgrading from an old Intel i3 Laptop that can barely run anything.

I have done a quite a bit of research but thought I should come here for a final check to make sure my original part list is ok.

Parts list: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/vCXMWb

Please could you reply with advice, Thanks

1. instead of overpaying 100+ for windows, you could get an OEM key for 15$ or so.

2. with ryzen, you dont need an aftermarket cooler to begin, the stock cooler will work well. use the money saved from os and fan cooler into a better gpu.

3. get a larger nvme ssd instead of the sata one youve gone for.

4. get a RMx PSU instead of the RM.

6. you could cut costs by going with a 3600 instead of the x variant

5. ive heard the gaming edge runs into issues pretty often, consider another motherboard, though im not sure.

do you urgently need this pc? coz if you dont, you should wait. by mid-september, new ryzen cpus (4000 series) and nvidia gpus (3000 series) are coming out. you could get more performance for the same price youre paying now. i myself am waiting to build my gaming rig. its gonna be worth the wait.

if you do urgently need one, heres a list

😕

Went with the 3700X as you mention video editing.

Assuming you want/need wifi.

Swap the SSD to a smaller one if you don't need 1TB.

If you want a bit extra gpu power then go with a 5600XT. The 1660 Super is fine for 1080p though.

Case is personal pref, but the Aerocool is good value as you get 4 ARGB fans included for just over £50.
