No post after installing 2 new fans

My brother is in the process of building a PC its an i9-9900K wwith a z390 gaming pro ac msi mobo with 32gb of viper steel extra performance memory 4000mhz it was running fine last night and he switched it off and 2 fans he ordered turned up today so he went to install them after he installed them the PC wouldn't boot he uninstalled the 2 fans and it still wouldn't boot we thought maybe a wire or case could be shorting it out so he removed everything from the case and had it as basically a test bench setup and he removed 2 sticks of the ram he is using 4x8gb sticks and it booted up fine then he put in the other 2 sticks and the PC wouldn't boot back up and just showed a cpu light on the ez debug so he removed the 2 sticks he just installed andd it wouldnt boot either yet it was working with that config 10 minutes before we have tried swapping ram sticks through each of the dimms with 1 stick and 2 sticks and still no luck on getting it to post any help would be much appreciated. My thought is that maybe he has somehow shorted the dimms slots and they are faulty but it wouldnt explain why it would work out of the case with 2 sticks and then wouldn't work with the same 2 sticks after he tried installing the other 2. forgot to mention but cleared the cmos several times during the whole process.

Reseat the CPU and clean its contacts on the underside. If the RAM functionality is spotty and the motherboard is blaming the CPU then it's probably the CPU.

If that doesn't work then likely the motherboard is gone. CPU's are very unlikely to fail because they're small and tightly engineered with few components.

Id be surprised if that mobo is gone it was brand new and was working 2 hours ago.

Yeah that's probably why it's gone. Factory defects happen. If you buy used parts then you know they'll work because they've already been used and thus they work.

I suppose thats true lol hes already been through one mobo on this build already after he spilled liquid metal onto cpu socket so telling him its his mobo again is gonna be hard lol

I don't think they should be doing liquid metal if they can barely even get the build to work, but oh well.

It was working fine he had a stable OC at 5.2GHZ its just installing the fans has somehow messed it up dont know whether a lose wire shorted the board or something thats my guess anyway he can build PCs just fine lol he built mine and my brothers fine no problems
