If 1440 or 2160 is all you are doing you can probably get away with as little as a quad-core and 16GB of RAM. A reasonably fast octo-core is gonna do everything you need. Add to that 32GB of RAM to be comfortable. 64 to be super comfy.

 

Something I find people often forget when building an editing station is disk read speed. Make sure you are working off a nice fast file server or your processing power is just gonna be sitting idle waiting for frames.

Im probably going to have 2TB of SATA SSD dedicated to videos.

I am starting with a 1TB HDD because I have one lying around my house. I will probably have a few NVMEs and 2 SATA SSDs and another 4TB HDD
