Specs:

Ryzen 5 3600 - CPU

Asrock B550M Steel Legend - MOBO

Nvidia RTX 2060 (Zotac) - GPU

550W Thermaltake Smart BX1 - PSU

Corsair 16GB R (x2 8GB) - RAM

Kingston 120GB - SSD

Silverstone Fara R1 - CASE

Put everything together quite easily, but she's not posting. Cable management is horrendous because I want to get it working first.

We'll see if I lose money on this.

I've troubleshot over a few days- diff ram, ram slots, running w/o excess devices connected, etc. same exact results despite trying pretty much everything. I don't want to turn this into a troubleshooting log but I've tried so much already lol

Is it powering on at all? E.g. fans spin and LEDs on? Or is completely dead/silent when pressing the power button (or shorting the power switch jumpers)?

MOBO and CASE LEDs work, GPU CPU CASE fans spin, but no display output from the GPU (hdmi and DP). My connected mouse and kb are not getting any power. CASE power button allows me to turn it on and off. Reset button works as well. When removing my CPU 8 pin connector the CASE power button didn't work, but then it would work when I reconnected it.

Probably should move this to troubleshooting anyway 😬

That's a good sign, at least it's powering on. Do you have a 4-pin buzzer so we can determine the POST / beep code? If not, I recommend you buy one for your kit.

Can you share a photo of your I/O area / back panel on your most recent attempt so we can see how your input/output devices are connected?

The back I/O just had my kb and mouse connected, but I tried powering on with them disconnected and it still had the same results. I don't have a 4 pin buzzer but I will consider getting one. My MOBO has red error LEDs, and the ones that were glowing solid red were DRAM and CPU.

Have you tried RAM in only the second slot from the CPU? I saw one with it in the very last slot which would only be used with 2 or 4 sticks.

Spoiler

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Redo the RAM as people have said.

Also, you might need to reseat the CPU or tighten/loosen the threads of the screws. Mounting pressure can be a reason for the errors.

If you do reseat the CPU, check/take a picture of the CPU and the heatsink to see how much contact there was with the thermal paste.

I tried both channels of RAM that I had in every single slot. (I should have specified that)

Yeah, with the RAM I tried both channels in every slot with the same results.

I reseated the CPU twice but I'll certainly make note of the mounting pressure. I initially had it pretty pressed up, but the next time around there was less contact with the same results.

Thanks! It ended up being two bad RAM sticks! I really appreciate all of your help!

That's great! Back to it being a build log! That'll look really good with some cable management like you said. Time to go all OCD!
