Allocating Disk Space taking forever!

So when i go to download a game on steam the allocating disk space takes ages, even if it is a small game? 

 

I can never remember it taking this long, is there anyway to fix the issue? I have already cleared the download cache.

Shouldn't take much,even on my 7200RPM game drive it takes a few seconds

Yeah theres deffo a problem!

If you have an SSD in your build I would recommend downloading to that and then transferring the files over to the HDD.
