Confused about OIS - Mate P10 Pro

Nagasaki

The "oddness" I am about to ask about has been bothering me for some years and has been happening on any phone I have used with OIS IIRC.

I just got back on a phone with OIS. I was on a Nokia 7.2 but it was just "slow" so I decided to go for an older flagship phone.

Anyway to the issue.

This phone has OIS and it works fine in 720p and 1080p 30fps, not in 60fps, 4K or lower than 720p resolution. But why is that? I cant see why OIS would not work in other video modes like 4K or 1080p60

Other phones I have had in the past have also had this behaviour.

Can anyone clear this up for me and explain what the frick is going on?

Probably limitations of the sensor, or the medium that it's writing to.

That makes no sense. Using OIS does not increase the size of a recording. OIS is the lens of the sensor moving to compensate for small motions of your hand etc.

Why would that function not be available at with 60fps recordings or 4k resolutions
