Hello everyone,

I am trying to plan a new PC for myself. Currently collecting more opinions and arguments, why and which parts to pick. It's getting kinda frustrating because I planned out a system around the 3700X, but now I am getting asked why I am not taking the 3600 and not this PSU etc. It's driving me nuts 😅
I'd like some help on why I should exchange something, but so far I wanna keep the parts that are currently in the list. Especially the case.

Budget (including currency): ~1300€-1500€ (minus around 500€ for the GPU that Ill buy later)

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Only for gaming, so future-proofing would be nice. I play all kind of games, so I don't really aim for specific games (60+ FPS would be good)

Other details: I already own 2x the Dual Kit in the pcpart list. I'd like keep using them. Currently I use LG 29UC97C as a monitor and will be buying a WQHD (144Hz). I own a 860 Evo 500GB and 1TB HDD.

You might ask why there is no GPU included. I plan on keep using my GTX970 til the new GPUs are coming out this year.
My main questions would be:

  • What motherboard should I get?
  • Is the CPU Cooler good, or should I get a Noctua?
  • Should I get NVMe, NVMe only for the OS, or stick with some additional SATA SSD?

to answer your question: yes

Currently I am having a system with i5-6600k/GTX970 and another with Ryzen 3 2200G/RX 560 Series.

What is better in my current position:

  • keep using the AMD CPU and GPU, buying all the other parts and get a new CPU and GPU when they release
  • getting the whole rig when CPU and GPU get released

at this point in time would strongly suggest waiting rather than wasting money on a build that you are going to upgrade in a couple of months

Sorry about the fuss of constantly changing my mind. Not easy having to decide when it comes to money.

I decided that I'll go for a Ryzen 3600, because thats rather enough for my use case (atleast I think it is), and waiting for the Zen3 isn't worth imo.

Nevertheless, my original questions regarding the Mobo, cooler and storage are still there, and I would need help on picking something.
