Sending sound from laptop to desktop

WaaromRoy

Looking for a way to send all the sounds from my laptop to my desktop,

Ive tried doing it with a aux cable but that would mean that my microphone wouldn't work for some reason.

Also found a few programs (VLC media player / Pulseaudio) that should be able to do it but i'm not sure that they are safe to use.

(Found some mixed comments thats why i'm not sure there safe.)

VLC is open source..... If it were going to do anything bad the open source community would have made a big deal out of it.
