I just got a Odyssey G7 and I am returning just one day after setting it up. I found lack of uniformity of the panel to be extremely annoying. There was also flickering during G-Sync. When I get my money back, I want to get an ultra wide and I am looking for some advice.

Things I am looking for in a monitor:

1) Perfect or near perfect viewing angles and uniformity of the display. I absolutely cannot stand any color shift or other other cause of a dis-uniform display. For example, on the G7 and other monitors I have returned, I hated that certain colors (like grey) would be darker in some places and lighter in others. Especially when colors shift from the bottom or side of the screen, where a light blue menu might be darker on the upper half of the screen than the bottom.

2) No or or as little as possible IPS glow or Bleed. I have a Dell 2714HM monitor right now that is virtually devoid of IPS glow that can be noticed. It also has virtually perfect color consistency.

Other considerations: I would like to have a refresh rate higher than 75hz and Gsync. These are secondary concerns to the above however.

I welcome anyone suggestions if you know any monitors that fit this description. My budget is no higher than the $700 dollars I am getting back from the G7 return.

Im afraid to inform u , u cant get that in 1 display.

VA = Can have acceptable uniformity, But bad viewing angles

IPS = Great viewing angles, but suffers IPS glow, good uniformity very hard to find

TN = Fast, but bad viewing angles, and Poor black levels exacerbate uniformity issues making them look bad.

Ultra-wides tend to have even worse uniformity issues than standard 16:9 displays so ur making things even more difficult, nay impossible, for yourself.

If uniformity is important as is viewing angles then u gotta look at IPS and just deal with IPS glow, and from what i can see this is the closest ur going to get to a uniform IPS Ultra-wide.

its $1000 though.

Honestly, the closest u can get imo is getting urself a 48" OLED and running it in a 21:9 resolution. But thats an expensive choice way above ur budget and one that would require u to alter ur usage habits if u want to ensure u never get 'noticeable' pixel degradation (aka burn-in).
