Ok i3 4120 vs i5 3470 gaming purposes

I would say that the i5 3470 would be better for most modern games, the extra 2 cores over the i3 4120 will really help out, make sure that you have a decent GPU as well.

Userbench is a known fraudulent website with fake data. I would strongly suggest avoiding it as it is already banned on r/hardware, r/intel and r/AMD as well as some other small hardware forums. It's owner is a confirmed troll who attacks respected media outlets and reacts like a 10-year-old when called out.

Both are very old and outdated so modern games won't run well or won't run at all.

But the i5 is better for older games.

Could be that the OP already has an LGA 1151 board and/or these CPUs on hand already, although if this is not the case then I would try to get something a bit newer (at least a Ryzen 3 3200G paired with a B450 board or B550 if the prices aren't too far off), unless you are able to source the components used at a really great price.

Really, I never heard of any of this, did some quick research and found that you shouldn't go with their scores fully as in what you would expect for real world results, although in terms of comparing how your components score against others from other user's test statistics it's somewhat decent. Could you please link where you found this information, I don't like to use userbench often, although sometimes have to since they have hardware comparisons that are sometimes unavailable on other sources.

I was able to find another source for comparing these CPUs in particular, although @PiKiTiN_23 what games are you planning to run on the system (optimizations for some modern games may run better on the i3 4120, although for older titles I would generally recommend the i5 3470).

Look on the forum news section - they've been caught manipulating data, faking data, harassing reviewers and engaging in semi-illegal antics. Also, Quora is not a source. That's like using Buzzfeed or WCCF Tech
