I have it, it's quite different from IRL PC building but you can get a general feel if you play career what sorts of things you need to look for when speccing a machine, troubleshooting, etc. I would buy it, it's pretty fun. Also the computer you use in the game to do stuff like order parts syncs with your computers background and also it has Razor Chroma support which adds +10% to fps

when playing career can you upgrade your personal PC?

and also build a new personal PC?

Yes, but it also has a free build mode where you can just do whatever you like. The only thing that disappointed me was the availability of various components in the game. It's a small dev shop, and they have to both design everything themselves and work out licensing (no Samsung anything, for example).

The career mode can be fun, but I found it a little repetitive after a while. You get the same kind of contracts over and over again. Add more RAM. Remove viruses. Blow out dust.

Hey there.

Is PC Builder Simulator fun and is it worth it?

Yes, ab-so-lute-ly, if the thought of building PCs and the idea of growing a small, mundane PC building business excites you. The simulator is very basic, which also means that it's very accessible to newbies unfamiliar with PCs or those with only a passing interest in PCs. Most mainstream brands and PC parts are available to build with (no Noctuas, unfortunately), and it runs you through the elementary motions of building a PC. In Career Mode, you start off with very little, but once you get into the rhythm of things, completing jobs and upgrading your own PC can feel very rewarding. 😁

For it's downsides... Well, as a "Simulator" title, you should only expect it to imitate reality, not to be a true-to-life rendition. Also, the game's inventory of PC parts is quite limited and can be a little bit outdated. And if you can, try to catch it when it goes on sale -- asking $19.99 for a simulator game feels a little too much, IMO.

Very fun game I definitely recommend it. Like others have said, career mode does get repetitive after a while, so there’s only so much you can play before getting bored.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.
