Ultrawide or Triple Screen - Simracing

Hey everyone. So I'm thinking about going from VR Simracing to Ultrawide/Triple-Screen Simracing.

I'd like to get some of you guys thoughts. Would you go for Triple/Ultrawide, stick to FHD or getting WQHD and why?

My personal VR Pros

  • Immersion
  • Depth of View while racing
  • Easy Setup
  • No Space required

My personal VR Cons

  • At least for me it's much harder for longer stints then 45 Minutes to concentrate
  • Sweating a lot
  • Bad graphics
  • Performance *

Now when I'm thinking about switching I never can't decide what to get. I can't buy new stuff every time I feel like it, so i have to be sure what to spend my money for. Now some thoughts what I'm thinking about:

  • Samsung Ultrawide 49" 1440p or 1080p. Well I guess 120/144Hz isn't too much of a difference. If I take the 1440p I have the option to play on 1080p right? I guess I can just turn resolution down like I do on my 27" 4K LG Monitor? When I turn down the resolution, the monitor will still run 120 Hz, right?
  • If I take the Samsung Ultrawide 49" 1080p I save some money but I'm stuck with FHD. So I guess taking the 1440p would be the better choice?
  • What if i took Triple Screen setup. From what I found out, I get 3x32" 2K 144Hz for around 300-350€/Monitor.
    • There are always huge spreads on money. I bought an 144 Hz FHD 24" Monitor for 130€ and I don't get why people spend almost double the money on a same spec one. I mean yeah, colors, but if it's still TN panel, it just feels wrong to me?

Is there even any way to calculate nearly the required PC Performance? I mean one point for switching back to screens for me is:

- iRacing FHD All Settings High (except 2 - Crowd/Crowdstands) avg 101 FPS

- iRacing 2k All Settings High (except 2 - Crowd/Crowdstands) avg 91 FPS

- iRacing VR All Settings off/low (maximum optimized for Oculus Rift S) avg 40-60 FPS *

I gonna upgrade and get a new PC as soon as RTX 3000 Series is available. Probably going Intel 10th Gen/AMD Ryzen 4th Gen + RTX 3000 Series (I think 3070 maybe 3080 but definitely will the GPU be max 800€). So far I don't even get 144 FPS on FHD in games like CoD Warzone or iRacing. So I'm not sure if I can even handle 1440p in future, but it looks like based on prices it would not be worth taking FHD.

Maybe some of you can help me by sharing their thoughts.

Based on FOV I'm not sure. I mean Triple has bigger FOV I think, you you still can't see everything to the right (as far as I can see on videos). So this would lead me even more to Ultrawide. But does Ultrawide/Triple then even improve so much more compared to single-screen?
