Hi everyone,

So I wanted to ask for y'alls help with a budget pc gaming build. Every time I go on pcpartpicker I just always end up going for the high tier stuff for whatever reason.

Any recommendations for a build that would be to play games like Civ6, Overwatch and in the near future Overwatch2 on a 34 inch LG ultrawide monitor 3440x1440. I'm not trying to go for competitive or anything but I just want something to run these games at high settings at 60 fps and not crash. Budget would be somewhere between $500-600

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

go on youtube and check out this guy callled scattervolt, and then type in some gpu/cpu configurations into the search bar of youtube, and that'll show you some good real world benchmarks. if none of that helps, go look up different gpus on google by putting in (gpu x) vs (gpu y) and clicking on the link to userbenchmark.com  and that'll be helpful, i assume you watch bitwit, but if not watch his video on gpu/cpu combos for different budgets, but i can already tell you that you'll  probably be good with a ryzen 5 1600 and for the budget you'll need to go amd. i'll have a pc part picker list ready in the morning, or latter tonight if i decide to stay up. also resist ANY rgb

Your 34 inch 1440p ultrawide is probably about half the cost of your entire system that you are looking to spec out. If you can I would really recommend waiting until the 4th gen Ryzen and Big Navi / 3000 series GPUs (which should be out in about two months), if you want to go for a proper value machine.

I already have the monitor. My old build just crapped out on me in september last year and I ended up getting a macbook pro for work and school instead. Obviously the mac can't handle these games very well despite being spec'd out so I just wanted to get something fro gaming on the side. I'm getting bored out of my mind with quarantine and i just want something to play on. I tried a nintendo switch but it just wasnt for me =/

i definitely agree with @BlueScope819 on buying GeForce experience for the next two months or so, but if you really need something to hold you over until then i'd say you should do an optiplex build, they can put out some decent preformance, that is, if done right, i've seen a 7010 with an rx 560 output 60-75 fps on Ranibow Six: Siege, fortnite, and Modern Warfare 2019, at 1080p medium/high, on the other hand, you could mess up and end up paying for something with less power than the craptops in a public school classroom.

Well, I guess the new GPUs and CPUs will be ready in time for the next wave of our favorite friend, human malware, so you will probably have plenty of quarantine time to enjoy it. Can you wait two months? In the meantime you can try a paid version of GeForce experience on the Mac, that can hold you over.

Lol. So if any ever really looked into GeForce now and after reading about it it seemed like a godsend. Come to find out neither of the games I want to play are in it though :/ been reading about release of the new nvidia gpus and and cpus but that seems way too far off. Typical tech buyer conundrum, wait for the next best thing when there is always the next best thing or just go for it now.
