Should I make RAID

Genezi1

Hello friends. I recently bought a m.2 256gb ssd. On my current computer I have a 120 gb ssd which is 2.5 inch connected with cables. My question is that if I can make those two run in a Raid and should I do it at all. Thanks

You can but you shouldn't. You'd waste half of the 256GB drive's capacity.

If you raid those two (raid 0):

- the speed will be limited to the slowest, that is the sata ssd.

- the capacity will be reduced / max out at the lowest, so you'll be making 120x2 = 240gb array, what's the point?

For RAID the 2 SSD's have to be the same size, or you have to limit the bigger one.
So you CAN, but it would defeat all the potential benefits.

I make Rainmeter things and other art :D

Thank you, guys. So the process will be like this. Install the m.2 ssd, migrate the windows on it and set up the m.2 as my boot drive. Am I right?

it's probably better if you install fresh windows on the m.2 and then copy your old files to it.

reinstall all programs so your pc feel fresh.
