how do you pass time in these tough times, where you cannot step outside freely?

please stick to answers that dont involve a phone, pc or console, id like to see how people can spend their time without tech

I go outsi-- oh...

 

Well, failing that I play some video ga-- oh...

 

I have high ceilings, so I can practice HEMA, but that's a fairly limited activity.  I also play violin, so I could definitely brush up on those skills.  Beyond that?  Well, let's just say I'm glad I'm allowed to go outside.

Most of my time is spent on a computer. About half of that time is forums, research, PCB design, etc. Not mindless games or videos.

 

Outside of that, I have school (not during summer obv) and biking. Kinda it tbh. Would get a part-time job (especially during the summer) but that sure as hell isn't happening now.

Back on topic, I've been reading a great deal more. And quite frankly, social gaming is part of what's keeping me sane, but I get if you want to limit that.

If I were in a situation where I wouldn't be allowed to leave the house (over here we never strictly went to a full lockdown), I'd start reading the collection of books that has been steadily gathering dust over the past 10 years. Failing that, I'd probably practice drawing again.

 

As a result of my situation, however, I've been keeping myself entertained with the following:

- Dungeons and Dragons (the other half of our play group liver 3 houses down the street and it's easy to do this while socially distanced)

- Board games with the wife

- So. Many. DIY. Projects.

Cover art scanning, waiting to go to work and driving my good ol' Saturn wagon, I guess. I've managed to rack a cool 2040 miles on it since I've purchased it... about eight months ago.

Relevant, because when you have nothing better to do, you start wasting hard drive space on 1200dpi art scans:
