It's probably an unstable oc. Change your settings.

what do you mean and what is prime 95

If you plan on overclocking then you probably should invest in a better cooler. stock coolers are ment to keep the cpu cool under the standard speeds. overclocking can greatly increase your temp and can cause several issues. And prime95 is a stress test program ment to push your cpu to see if any of the cores fail under load. If a core should fail then it will say and that means that your cpu is unstable.

I used amd overdrive to oc and I did like a 20 min stress test but I didnt know how to interpret the results

I run it normally on 3.0 I havent really tryed 3.1 just in case and since I dont have the money id like to be able to push it

Well is it stable at 3.0? Any lines or issues? Bring it down to 3.1 and run prime95 on blend for at least 30 mins. If there are no issues, then try and raise the voltage a little, and then put it up to 3.2

it's stable at 3.0 and it won;t let me turn up the voltage anymore

I agree. overdrive is okay but is know for unstability. Try overclocking your northbridge in the BIOS. It is a far more stable overclock then using a program. Also i still would get a aftermarket cooler. you can get a decent one for $40 USD on newegg. Becuase running a hot cpu can cause permanent damage.

Well I guess if you are using AMD overdrive then you are stuck at 3.0. Especially with that cooler- Buy a Hyper 212 for 40 dollars

It didn't seem to be getting that hot but i'm wondering if i'm going to go ahead and spend money should I just save up for a better processor cause I really don't have the money

so how can i stable it other than to turn up the voltage

You really can't. Applying more voltage will stabilize your cpu but also cause it to get hotter which is why the more you overclock the better cooler you need.

Gonna have to speed at least 80 for a better CPU, and you won't be able to overclock that without a cooler as well
