I'm looking for a budget motherboard right now and was wondering, if I should get the Gigabyte B450 DS3H or the MSI B450M Pro-M.2 Max. The gigabyte one has 4 dim slots while the MSI one only has two and the Gigabyte one has 2 PCI-E 16 while the MSI only has one. Was wondering if anyone know if its a good board or if I should just go with the MSI one.

Both are equally shit

Which cpu are you getting ?

The pro 4 will be a lot better than both of these

Consider the tomahawk max and the mortar max as well.

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad.

5 1600 AF, I'm looking at those boards but don't know if I can stretch my budget that far.

The pro 4 should cost the same as a ds3h

Or maybe a little more expensive.

Out of the two, the Gigabyte seems better. However, both of these are dead ends. It doesn't much matter if you don't care about upgrades or top of the line processors/features what board you get honestly. You've already decided budget is everything, so get the cheaper one.

Get the Pro4 if possible. I have the DS3H, and I wish I didnt. It's an absolute bare-bones board, with the only real benefit being the b450 chipset and the 4 dimm slots. The biggest problem I had was fan headers. You only get 2, and I realised afterwards that I wanted to be able to control the speed on my 3 case fans. After reading about the downsides of splitters I settled on a fan hub which added another £20, and buy adding a that price I could have just gotten a B450 Mortar. Also had issues with enabling xmp on ram, but that may have been due to the specific modules.

Tldr: it's very basic and only buy if you can't spare any extra

Then you should save your money so you can afford a better one down the road. As others pointed out, neither one of them are worth the salt of the earth, so saving up for a better one is for your own good, or just get the pro-4 version. 👍👍
