should i get it or nha?

so i got my self a sweet ass deal on a 4800h laptop!

im a 3d artist and wanted a laptop that can do it well.

and found froma  freind a great deal on a 4800h with a 2060 in it!

preety sweet. 1 problem. its 60hz monitor....given IPS but its still just a 1080p monitor

i CAN get a 144hz 1 but it will be a 1660TI.

question is. is it even worth having a 144hz monitor in there?

i dont play comp games might play some VR games MAYBE

so i dont care...im thinking more about eyecare stuff that i heared 144hz is better. hell i got a 240hz monitor on my pc at home and i love this thing even tho i didnt play a competative game in YEARS.

its just so smoooooooth.

so is it weven worth it? 144hz TN screen with a 1660TI? or a 2060 with a 60hz IPS screen?

is it worth shelling abit more money and getting the 144hz with the 1660ti? am i even gonna get to 144hz on most harder games?

cpu: 5950x

mobo: asus tuf pro x570

gpu: 3090 FE

ram: 32gb G.SKILL Trident Z 3200 c14

psu: Antec HCP1300w Platinum (overkill i know...got it for a good price)

thats all needed right?...i didnt study for this exam....

For pruductivity i'll always lean to ips, especially on a laptop where the viewing angle will not always be perfect. When using it for work 60Hz should suffice. Also the 2060 should do better if you ever wanted to hook up a VR headset.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

question is how bad is the diffrence?

if were talking what 10% on the laptop side id guess? would 144hz be nicer to use?

When it comes to gaming, there's not much of a difference between a 1660Ti and 2060 to be honest. The big difference is the 2060 has Raytracing, and the 1660Ti does not. If you're going to play games I'd recommend the 1660Ti version, as those specs @ 60hz doesn't really use them to their full potential IMO.

I don't do and 3D work, so I can't comment how the GPU difference will effect that however.

Yeah I really don't understand that either. I personally would go 144hz. Seems like a better option.

Once you go 144hz you never go back.

no need to explain got a 240hz monitor at home ^_^ used to play allot of comp gaming so used to love this screen this days i use a 4k monitor for most work but i still got the 1080p 240hz running along side it. and i still love how smooth it is.

Yes high refresh rate is nice and all, but that also counts for IPS. If you ever go for IPS, VA or OLED it's hard to go back to TN either :D It's a hard choice to make and really comes down to what display you'd rather have.

that IS true but its more viewing angles on IPS isnt it?

actual quilty wise isnt TOOOO diffrent from what i know

That's fair. I've personally never used a TN panel. My first monitors were 1080p 60hz LED/LCD panels, then I made the switch to a 3440x1440 144hz 1ms IPS and the difference is insane.

Generally IPS will give you better colors and viewing angles than TN at the cost of responsiveness. But i don't know about this particular panel here and how good it is. There are IPS panels on the market that are worse than TN in every regard.

Same for me and now i ended up on a 4K 55" 120Hz OLED panel and i can never go back to LCD monitors :D

Also TN, IPS, VA are all LCD/LED panels. Likely if you started with cheap 1080p 60Hz monitors they were TN.

I've never tried OLED, but when my 4k LED TV dies, I'm 100% looking into OLED for sure. I've heard great things.

Yeah likely, the monitors were Asus VE278Q, I just can't find anything on their panel type asides from LED backlit LCD.

Tn is very bad for 3d work where color accuracy is a must. Otherwise I'd say go for the TN 144hz one as a 2060 mobile's ray tracing abilities are not too great as it is.
