i know what it is and does, but why does it kill fps on some games and not on others?

especially on minecraft java, normally it just makes the game run horribly, but if you turn it on when you have 230+ mods loaded it struggles severely, it took at least 3 minutes for it to set it to 2x and ran at a 3rd of the fps after, i tried setting it back but that was 10 minutes ago, and its still struggling to go to the default.

AF don't kill FPS unless you are running something like a GT 210.

i have a rx 580 overclocked to a stable 1500mhz

and a ryzen 5 2600 overclocked to a stable 4ghz on all cores

i have 16gb of ddr4 ram running at 3000mhz, 10gb's of it is allocated to minecraft

when im running 230+ mods with it off i get 150fps, but with it on it goes to 30-45fps

when running regular minecraft i get 300fps normally but it drops to 60 when its on

Minecraft is just missing one very important part. A good API implementation like DirectX or Vulkan. Afaik Java runs on OpenGl and it's just not using your CPU/GPU as efficient as other games using actual good APIs.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
