Need help connecting chassis fans to motherboard

Go to solution Solved by narrdarr,

That is a RGB connector. Its also a 4 pin connector, which is usually a 12v RGB. That means a few things for you.

Your case is the Masterbox pro 5 RGB not the Masterbox pro 5 ARGB. the Masterbox pro 5 ARGB uses 5v ARGB connections.

Illl let you look at the cases on the website to see the difference, But the ARGB will have all the extras lighting options that you probably want out of an RGB setup. The RGB case Will colors just they will be more limited.

Either way your motherboard does not support any RGB.

You need to get a separate controller.

This controller will allow you the most control over your lighting and connect to your motherboard through a USB. Which looks like you have an extra one that you can use. Also the one i would recommend.

This controller is a basic inline controller and is vary limited in the color range that is select-able as well as in the modes that are available.

If you decide to switch cases you'll still need a controller it will be a different one.

I've got a Z390 Pro4 motherboard and a Masterbox pro 5 argb cooler master midtower. The case comes with three fans, all of which are combined into one cable. The only problem is, that cable doesn't fit into any of the chassis fan headers on the motherboard. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you take a picture of the connector?
