Would it bottle neck?

About to upgrade to Ryzen, from a i5-2400 sandy bridge CPU. Using, and going to re-use my Radon RX 570 series GPU. I want a good compatibility with the CPU, and GPU( I don't want to baby the computer from bottle necking). Would I be better off buying a AMD RYZEN 5 3600 6-Core 3.6 GHz. or can I just get away with a AMD Ryzen 3 3200G 3.6 GHz?

Also,

Motherboard=MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard

Ram=Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory

Wanting to get a price around $300 with motherboard, ram, and CPU( But I can and will bump up my budget, if, and only if it's worth the price jump from Ryzen 3, to Ryzen 5). Will buy a Turbo M.2 drive later. Have a SSD that I can temporarily use for now. More focused on the other parts compatibility and performance.

Thanks for taking the time to read this ☮️

Please re write this in White

Also a 570 won't Bottleneck a 3600

If you can't afford a motherboard and a 3600

Get a 3300x which is more or less on par with the 3600 in terms of gaming

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad.

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

so your saying to overclock the Ryzen 3 and I'll be fine? no need to spend the extra money on a Ryzen 5?

No a 3300x is not a 3200g

These are two completely different chips

I said if you can't afford a 3600 and a board

Get a 3300x which is close to a 3600 in terms of performance

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

3400 is based off Zen+ not Zen2

Id chase a 3600, because if you go Low settings on a 570 for COMP settings, the 3600 wont cripple your COMP settings while the 3400G will limot COMP settings getting as fast..

Id not choose the Z+ 4c8t but choose the Z2 3600.

Or Zen2 3300x (much faster 4c8t chips)

You can absolutely get by with 3400g but depends what you really aim for..

Do you lower settings to chase 100fps in MP titles if need be?

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

@GroundbreakingCrew9 Buddy I think your "Bold" setting is on, so its a little tough on eyes. Anyway..

As @TofuHaroto said, a RX570 should not bottleneck R5 3600x.. but f your plan is to only game, Ryzen 3 3300X (4C/8T) would be a better choice since most games nowadays dont usually benefit from more cores, but higher clock speeds. Just OC the hell out of 3300X and you'll be good to go.

And isn't 3200G a 4C/4T APU?

Not even

Stock out of the box it's close to a 3600 in games

No need to OC 3300x,but id still grab a cooler for it to keep boostclocks near 4.2+ when the stock cooler might sit at 4Ghz-4.1Ghz

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

570 will def bottleneck a 3600.  The GPU is slower than the CPU in 99% of games.

3300X is what you want, it should be available in a few weeks.

You will not see a large performance increase though, maybe less stuttering, but average FPS will be similar.

But for faster FPS on a RX570, using High Textures and low settings for FPS, what I mean is the 3400g may cap on IPC providing the GPU at such 100fps+ needs.

While the 3300x and 3600 clockspeeds and IPC have much less trouble with 100fps+ needs.

R5 3600 can support up to a 2080 and a 570 will give lower FPS than the CPU is capable of producing.  Which means the 570 WILL bottleneck an R5 3600.  The GPU is the limiting factor.

More threads and Higher frequency will help if you do multitasking Games+ Videos on multiple monitors.

And a RX580 at the right price wouldn't go astray with a 3300x.

I think the Ryzen 5 will be a little better than the i5-2400 I'm using right now?

If you mean a Bottleneck in the sense that a 570 is the weakest link of the cpu then yes

If you mean that it will Bottleneck in the sense that it will slower the cpu then

No not really

If you are such a phonatic about great gaming, I'd look at an rx 580 then. And a ryzen 5 3600. Does that fit in your budget?

Nope

GPU does, better GPU needs better CPU.

Where did what I said change?  Oh, it didnt.

R3 3300X.

RX 570 is a medium settings/1080p card at this point.

Doesnt matter.  R3 3300X performs like a 3900X in most games.  Its faster than the R5 3600.  The only reason to get a higher end CPU is if you plan on doing content creation.
