I am going to build my first pc soon and want to know if i should wait for say the RTX 3080 to come out. And when do you think any will be released and should i wait to buy one?

It's best to wait if you can especially if you're building a decently high-end system.

 

It's supposedly coming out around Q3-Q4 of the year. You can get a relatively cheap midrange GPU in the meantime if you have to use the PC for whatever reason.

if you can wait then wait. they are rumored to be announced this september, as for the actual release date, you will need @Mateyyy's crystal ball for that

If your satisfied with the current performance then wait for Navi and ampere and zen 3 

We don't know when it will be released but it's supposedly going to be in Q3/Q4 of this year

No concrete info on that but at worst, probably the same as RTX 20.

 

If AMD can actually compete now though, maybe pricing will be a notch lower.

I would not pay full price for a GPU that's based on nearly two year old technology like Turing.  Wait for Ampere and either spend the money up front or buy used.  A bunch of folks will be dumping their cards to upgrade.  I know my 2080 Ti with water block will be going for $500 or so when they are released.  Don't really feel like figuring out how to reattach the stock cooler.

I’m in the same dilema I’m gonna put together my pc with a Ryzen 9 3900x and attach a gtx 1660 super until the new rtx 3000 series comes out although, I’m gonna wait until the end of the month since there are no Gpu s available on Amazon until the 20 + august so, I recommend  you do the same. Use a cheapo gpu or just wait like me.
