Noob building a gaming PC! Help appreciated

Budget (including currency): ~ $2000 USD

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming. Most intense game played is probably Call of Duty.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pjWRPn

So I made this list with the help of a few friends, I want to see if there are any suggestions/changes you would make. I don't really care about the looks of the PC. I would like to play COD with at least 144fps optimally. The biggest thing I am also wondering is what to do for the power supply. The power supplies my friends and I have looked at are sold out so if you guys have recommendations for that I would appreciate it, I don't really wanna overpay 2-3x the normal price off Amazon but I will if that's the best option.

idk if this is relevant or matters but I want to try to buy the parts in the next 2-3 weeks if possible.

Thanks!

The new nvidia and amd gpus are coming out in the next 2-6 months and so are the new ryzen chips. I will make a pcpartpicker list for you if that is too long to wait.

Yeah, I'd prefer not waiting that long. The list would be highly appreciated, Thanks!

The 500GB SN750 should be for the OS, and the 1TB P1 for games.

If you can't wait until the D15 gets restocked, there's also the Dark Rock Pro 4, or you could go for a single tower heatsink, like an NH-U12S chromax.black or a Dark Rock 4.

I'd mount those two extra fans in the front as intakes, and the fans that come included in the case as exhausts in the rear and top.

the 2080Ti is way too overpriced, the super does basically the same thing for almost half the price

Sure, the 2080Ti is crazy expensive and I wouldn't generally recommend buying it, however performance is definitely better...about 16%

If you have $2000 for a gaming rig and you want to spend all $2000 of them, I see no reason not to get the Ti (except for the new cards coming soon)

Edit: 16% at 4K 12% at 1440p

fair enough, but spending 1.2k on a single GPU just doesnt makes sense imo, you can get another rig for the price!

Do you know what resolution you would like to target? 1440p would probably be the sweet spot at this price point.

If you don't want to play eSports titles at low settings at 200+fps, intel isn't really worth it for the $100 extra you'll pay. Have a look at the some of the AMD options instead above. If you do want to go intel though, matteyyy's list is a solid choice

Hey man, super excited for you. That's a nice chunk of $ to be working with.

Good build too, they really are your friends!

Questions:

What resolution to you plan on getting 144fps @? Do you already have a monitor? Which one?

Do you know/want to overclock your rig or would you like more of a turn key experience?

IMO stuff:

Intel platform make sense for your use case. In reference to my question above, the 106000010600K is a fun/great chip to overclock with. The 3600 is a more of a set  it and forget it type.

Get the Super. The Ti is...an historical piece

I dislike the timings of your RAM selection. Put an extra $40-50 bucks in to get some true CL16s, none of this 16-19 shit. Remember to check your motherboards QVL list.

I would like the play esports titles 200+fps because eventually I think i will be upgrading my monitors as well, so in that case you would recommend intel?

If that's the case, and you won't ever be doing multicore workloads like video editing, intel may be the best option.

I appreciate all the replies everybody. I'm gonna keep looking and doing research to see what my best options are. Thanks a lot. Also I see most of your guys' locations aren't from America but if you guys have any recommendations of where to purchase some of these parts besides just online, I would also appreciate that.

iirc BestBuy used to do a price match +10% on competitor pricing, but I'm not from America 🤭

There is nothing objectively wrong with your list, and if you had gone ahead and bought it, you would be very happy, no doubt.

I think it is a good idea that you are going to revisit your list, IMO, your motherboard/RAM selections were not on point.

Everything else is great.

My suggestion:

Relax, it's not life and death.

C

Well...it is video game life and death isn't it. lol
