while idle and only having discord and spotify open the pc is a bit loud and i dont know exactly whats making the loud noise. it isnt the gpu because the fans dont spin when i am idle. its either the cooler or the case fans or psu fan. here is what i found on hwmonitor image.png.dc970fe9f53739f370fb3071a0f72049.png

GIGABYTE GAMING OC 8G RTX 2080 SUPER stock speeds driver version 451.48

16gb ram ddr4 3000mhz XMP on

ryzen 5 3600 oc @4.2ghz (GIGABYTE ATC800 RGB COOLER)

MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX

CoolerMaster MB520 TG case with 3 front fans and 1 rear fan.

Corsair TX650M PSU

Windows 10 V.1909 on Samsung 970 evo plus ssd

GPU temps 60-70 while gaming idle temps are 55

CPU temps 60-75 mostly mid 60's while gaming idle temps are 40-50

Try adjusting your fan curves in the BIOS.

Also, use HWiNFO64 instead of HWMonitor. Its readings are a lot more reliable for Ryzen.

how about 50% at 65 degrees and 80% at 70 degrees?

Sounds good, assuming those are CPU temps you're referring to.

It'll also depend on what fans you're using, as 50% can mean anything really. You'll just have to different fan curves out and adjust as you see fit so the noise level is good to you, and that cooling performance is also in check when needed (at load).

i turned off smart fun curve and it leaves my cpu at 2000rpm always. its not too loud and doesnt make the noise i used to hear when it was to smart fan curve. cinnebench test max temp was 81 under full load. is that good? should i keep it that way?

I mean if you're fine with it then sure, but imo running it at 2000RPM all the time, regardless of load, doesn't make much sense.

is that too high? or too low?

Well it's on the high side for idle, but again it's personal preference. If you're fine with the noise level, then you can just leave it at that.
