Why does Chrome use so much RAM?

Why? I hate when Chrome hogs up all of my ram, freezing my PC.

Current Rig: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, Abit IN9-32MAX nForce 680i board, Galaxy GT610 1GB DDR3 gpu, Cooler Master Mystique 632S Full ATX case, 1 2TB Seagate Barracuda SATA and 1x200gb Maxtor SATA drives, 1 LG SATA DVD drive, Windows 10. All currently runs like shit :D

Well, that just sucks

I don't mind it to be honest. At least like the guy said, if one tab crashes, it doesn't take down the whole browser with it. I have no problems with Chrome using so much actually. Even with 4GB of DDR2 RAM, my system still feels snappy when my RAM usage is at 90%.

NSA's I mean Googles spyware. How many extensions do you have installed as it sandboxes them individually.

2. Gmail notifier and LTT App.

Yeah, but I have the same RAM config, but it feels sluggish.
