Spray painting gpu backplate

I would like to spray paint my gpu backplate but I only have matte white and black spray paint would this be fine for spray painting the backplate? It only gets up to about 55c at the hottest part under 3hrs of of stress testing

Yes, but I wouldn't paint it while the backplane is connected to the GPU

Definitely not I’d remove backplate but do you think regular spray paint would be fine?

I think so, the heat will only further bak it on to the backplane. I'd gently scuff up the backplane first, give the paint something to adhere to.

To be certain, I'd let it fully dry, then hit it with a can of dull-coat to protect it further.

I have primer, the spray paint and then the primer is that ok?

That should do just fine.

Just be careful of the "orange peel" effect using spray cans, light easy motions, starting the spray off the board, moving across and once off, then stopping the spray.

 

May take several coats to get it even.
