I'm looking to get a pair of over-ear anc headphones and am kindof split between 2. The razer opus and the sony wh-1000xm3. I know the xm4's are gonna be in soon(hopefully) but im kindof looking for something now. i own 3 pairs of anc earbuds, being the airpods pro, sony wf-1000mx3, and sony sp800n. I do like bass in my headphones, so i'm more leaning towards the sony's, but im wondering if anyone has the opus what they think of them for anc headphones.

I really like the Sony option. They do have a lot of bass, which audiophiles wont like for comprehensive listening... but that's not what they're designed for. When on-the-go, the bass boost helps fight off all those other sounds around you that sneak into your ears through the rest of your body (ANC can't fight this). Riding in an airplane, car, train, etc, I find the sound to be perfect. The ANC has saved my ears during many long hours in rattling work vans traveling across Texas.

Recently I got a pair of Shure Aonic 50.... much more accurate sound. You can hear details and instrument separation more clearly. They don't lack bass, it's just not boosted. Their ANC is not nearly as good for actually traveling around, as it clips pretty easily while also not blocking quite as much as the Sony. For an environment without a high noise floor, like an office or school, the ANC is adequate. They also sound just as good using the wire - not true for most wireless headphones.

I bought a pair of sony XM3 two months ago and I don't regret a thing.

Excellent battery life, charges ridiculously fast if I use a power plug. My PC usb power output is not that great so it takes longer, but using the power brick my phone came with it manages to last about 1.5 days  with 20 minutes of charging.

You can adjust the bass from within the app from sounding neutral to drowning you in bass. It's not the nasty kind of bass though as it doesn't overpower any other part of your music or sound muffled or muddy.

Also the noise canceling is really good, especially outside.

I only have two complaints. If I plug them into my PC while noise cancelling is still on, I get a weird 50Hz-ish quiet buzzing sound but that goes away if I turn them off or If I touch the PC case. Also I think I would have preferred physical buttons instead of the touch controls. Volume up/down works fine, but skipping tracks or pausing is a hit or miss situation for me. It either works perfectly or forces me to pick up my phone and skip tracks from there.
