What exactly does the error say? Could you take a screenshot of it please.

Did the system actually crash/reboot when this happened? That error is a bit of a nightmare to debug because it tells you nothing about what actually happened, its simply the default message for when Windows crashes. The crash might have had nothing to do with power at all.

Everything crashed and rebooted automatically

The only thing we can say is its highly likely to be a hardware problem, its unusual for software to fail so badly that it kills Windows outright.

Start by doing the simple stuff, monitor temps and voltages, check RAM using MemTest etc. It could literally be anything at this point, that error tells us nothing about what caused it.

So I upgraded my parts, and the only thing that stayed was my hard drive. And I was experiencing it on the hard drive as well. But now, my windows is on my ssd so I dont know. I actually did memtest yesterday and it passed every test.

Its possible it could be a faulty power cable or strip plug causing the problem.

Could vram thermals be a problem?

Haha you go from a broken power cord straight to the vram thermals. That's not the way for troubleshooting;

you need to go through it step-by-step, start at the power cord, end at CPU/GPU properties. (or the other way round but at least in an order that makes sense, not just jumping around between different parts)

I was just naming something off that could possibly be the problem. And I ran heaven, prime 95, memtest 86 and everything went perfectly fine

Certainly begin by unplugging that HDD just to eliminate it.

You're saying its almost entirely a new PC which has passed a memory test, CPU stress test and a GPU stress test.

That leaves either power or software. If the cable is starting to fail it can deliver an unstable power supply to the PSU or it might even have an intermittent break in power, both of these would cause a hard reset. Its not very likely but its something I have experienced myself and wasted hours trying to work out the cause (in my case the cable died for no reason and I basically stripped the entire PC down looking for the cause).

As I said earlier, its very unlikely software would cause Windows to reboot without triggering a more detailed error log first. The "Kernel Power Failure" error basically means Windows rebooted before it had a chance to work out what happened and log the issue, that normally indicates an instant loss in power. I'm not saying its impossible but with modern Windows its VERY unlikely.

A few other checks would be to go over all the PSU connectors and make sure everything is plugged in fully (both to the board and your components).

Can I ask how many times this has happened? If its only once you should stop worrying about it unless it happens again.

I received the issue a few days ago so I wiped windows assuming it was a software issue but I received it again after having pretty much a blank windows with like 2 games. I also assumed it could've been my audio drivers because Ive heard those can cause some problems. Also, I wouldnt think a cable to a 2 week old psu would be failing. I have my old psu cord. Should I try and use that instead?

Did you change the cable with the PSU and did the problems start afterwards?

The only other reasonable explanation I have is something is overheating which would trigger a hard reset to protect the device but that should show in a stress test. Were you also monitoring temps when you did the tests?

The final option is one of your new components has an intermittent problem, the issue there is it could be the board, cpu, gpu, ram or psu and its impossible for you to find out which one without having replacements to swap in and out. In that case you'd either have to pay a local shop to find out which part is failing or RMA everything.

A nice test to eliminate software would be to install Ubuntu and run it for a few days, see if the problem remains on a different OS.

Also it would be a good idea to make sure the BIOS is updated to the latest version and that you're running Windows 10 V1909 or later (earlier versions don't like Zen 2 CPUs).

No, im using the same cable that came with the psu. How can I tell what version of windows Im running?
