I recently built my new rig, it has a 3930k and is using an Asus P9X79 deluxe board with the H80i cooler.

I am posting regarding CPU temperatures.

The intake air temp is 17-18 degrees Celsius.

When on idle the temps across all cores average ~27 degrees C

When running prime 95 across all cores it stabilizes at ~55 degrees C

These readings are at stock CPU frequency and Voltages.

Are these temperatures the norm ?

Thanks for any input.

Yes those temps are fine! Intel chips can stand alot of heat. But if it every does get worst apply better thermal paste like AC5 and get a better aftermarket cooler like H100i.

I chose the h80i because as mentioned above I'm not overclocking much at all so it isnt required , and my case the ft-02 does not support a h100i or custom loop without mods.

I have a 3930k and you are fine. You should actually oc a bit. The 3930k is a beast of an overclocker. If you want a good temp to shoot for. A stable 24/7 build while running prime95 in my opinion should be around 70-80C. You can probably push it to something like 4ghz maybe. But at 55C that is low for prime95.
