It's a matter of trying different things to track down the which component(s) causing the issue.

Try your Gpu in a different pcie slot

Try it in a friend or relatives pc.

Try a different gpu in your yours.

Cant do the last 2, the first one is also impossible because my gpu wont fit in the second pcie slot

Have you tried reseating your GPU yet? just take it out and put it back in... also does that GPU have other DP ports on it that you can plug your cable into?

I'm guessing the reason it won't fit in the other slot is because of the case.

So as you don't have access to another pc my last 2 suggestions are.

Take the pc out of the case and build it up using your mb box as a test bench. This way you can try the second pcie slot.

Take it to a shop where they can try different components to find the problem.

Side note, this has always been my one issue with AMD with their chips not having an iGPU to be able to use your MoBo display outputs.

Agree, it doesn't have to be anything wonderful. Just a very basic output for troubleshooting.

I think i found the issue, my gpu fans spin and light is on, but when i replug the displayport cable into the gpu for the monitor to try again, the fans stop spinning on the gpu (gpu light stays on the whole time

OH GOD! that sounds like something is wrong with the power delivery on the card. If possible you may need to RMA the card.

return merchandise authorization

essentially it's just talking to whoever you bought it from and getting them to accept a return or exchange. This is why i always buy my most expensive hardware from a physical retailer rather than online. makes these sort of things a lot easier to deal with.

U sure

If plugging in the monitor shuts down the card then there is definitely something wrong with it.

Then if it's still within their return policy time limit then you should bring it back asap and get it exchanged for a new one.

As @Marbo suggested that earlier we had assumed you already did. So yes try that if you want. seeing as the monitor and cable worked just fine on the laptop it probably won't change the outcome.

I tried that tv and it worked even though the gpu fans stopped spinning, but the monitor still says no signal so idk what the problem is

Well the TV probably has it's own dedicated GPU inside. The card is definitely faulty and needs to be returned but you can always try and see by plugging it back into the TV and play something that will the GPU working. If the fans ramp up from that then there is always the chance your PSU is faulty and not supplying the required power to your card. but that's unlikely as your system still boots.

oc? either way if the light just flashes and doesn't stay one you're fine there.
