ASUS EeeBook F205T - distorted speaker

Hey there,

I have had an ASUS EeeBook F205T for the past six years, during which it has served me very welll.

Today I noticed a strange distortion, when playing back media via YouTube (Firefox, Brave) or VLC.

I subsequently removed all audio devices, since the Realtek driver caused a similar issue in the past. Unfortunately this did not resolve my problem.

Upon opening the laptop I noticed, that the speaker on the right appears to be recessed. I checked various YouTube disassembly videos to see, if it should be this way. It should not.

Is there a way to fix the speaker or do I need to replace the speaker assembley?

Cheers,

Ron

Ooops - the 'cone' has fallen off.

Did something fall out when you opened the back...?

I frequently edit any posts you may quote; please check for anything I 'may' have added.

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

@Eighjan

No, nothing. Would it be possible to order a replacement part and attach it with super glue?

That I don't know... depends what's been made available by Asus.
