Pc not posting (pcie issue?)

Pkelex

I recently got my hands on a gtx titan so I wanted to upgrade to that one from my gtx 1050ti.But whenever I put it on my motherboard it refuses to post on screen.I tried everything from the psu resitting the gpu checking the ram and resetting the cmos also updating to the latest bios version, but nothing worked. I tried the card on my brother's pc and it worked perfectly fine but when I tried his 5700xt on my pc it wouldn't post too. I believe that the pcie slot is faulty on my motherboard(note that the gtx 1050ti works perfectly fine and posts but the other cards don't even though they work on my brother's pc). If so what do you suggest on doing. Thank you very much for your help and time.

Specs include :

B450m ds3h motherboard

Gtx 1050ti oc windforce gpu

16gb ddr4 2400mhz

Ryzen 5 2600

650w corsair tx650m 80plus gold

Where do you plug in the hdmi? Ur PSU may also be the reason it doesn't work

Reminder⚠️

Simple one to start with; are you supplying the Titan with power from your PSU?

Many 1050 take their power from the PCI-e slot, so you may not be used to wiring a graphics card for additional power...

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

Titans can be power hungry... very valid point; 650W PSU may not be enough.

EDIT:

Of the 26 GTX Titan variants listed on PC Part Picker, ALL have TDP of 250w or more.

If your PCI-e slot was faulty, your 1050 wouldn't work either...

I was referring to the both but try the 2nd mobo slot since some mobos have the 2nd as primary

Even tho your brother has the same PSU I still think it is it since there aren't really much other factors and it is recomended to have a 600W PSU to run titan GTX

Another thought - what output were you using on the 1050 & is your monitor set to auto-detect the input in use?

That may sound stoopid, but some monitors can be set to specific input.

I still maintain that if your 1050 still works, the PCI-e slot is fine.

Nice... always better to leave PCI-e detect to auto, that way it'll find whatever card you put in w/o needing to know what Gen. it is.
