Replied/viewed indicator

It'd be cool to see if you have previously replied to or viewed a topic at least once in the past.

 

Sometimes a lot of threads look the same.

 

Not a huge deal, but would be a faster pace method of lurking.

 

IE put an indicator symbol or something next to a thread if you've seen it at least once before or replied to it at least once before. Kinda like how if there have been no new replies to the topic since you last viewed or there was a best answer.

Sadly, there is no way to tell that you have seen a thread without replying (given that there have been more posts since you last looked, as you have said).

I thought the star represented a "this is potentially popular."

Is there a key to the symbols somewhere? I know some forums have it but I just haven't looked in a long time.

Bold/not bold means read/unread (unread includes that you read it but there have been posts since), and star/dot means you replied/haven't replied.

 

There isn't a key for it anywhere, do you have any idea for where would make sense to put one?

Some put them at the top or bottom of a section.

Marking subforum read after browsing it is my way. I have made custom activity feed to catch those threads that are moved out of my regular subforums. You could make one for those you've read.
