System Specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3900x

RAM: G.SKILL Trident Z Neo (For AMD Ryzen) Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC

MOBO: ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING

GPU: ZOTAC GTX 1080

PSU: CORSAIR 600W

OS: WINDOWS 10 PRO 64-BIT

BIOS: 1409

I recently upgraded my PC last weekend with a new CPU, MOBO, and RAM and am having trouble POSTing.

When I try to turn on the PC, it gets stuck with the POST code 54 and the cpu light on the mobo stays on. The only reliable way I've gotten it to POST is to: remove one of the RAM modules, restart the PC, then reinstall the RAM module and it will POST. After that if I cut power to the PSU or leave it off(with the psu on) for a while it will present the same code 54 error.

Any help is appreciated!

Some sort of ram problem.  Could be bad memory.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

How do I see if its bad?

The memory?  Couple of ways.  Easiest and least reliable is to just run the win10 app (let it do a couple full passes. Takes a while). Next would be memtest86, after that it’s the one memory stick at a time trick.
