Motherboard audio problem

My motherboard audio has somehow stopped working? I swapped out something from my motherboard and on my next boot the audio stopped working and all I could hear is static noise like it's picking up electrical signals from the motherboard itself rather than outputting audio. Don't know if that's the right way to put it, windows still detects the headphones but there's no audio and all I hear is static noise. I thought at first it was a problem with my headphones but when I connected it to my phone there was no problem. I have it connected to my front panel IO so I thought that was the problem so I moved it to the rear IO, and I could still hear static, although it's not as loud as it is in the front panel IO but I can still hear and there's still no output in my headphones. I tried reinstalling and updating realtek drivers but there's still nothing. I tried unplugging and re-plugging the front audio but its still no fix. So I guess it might be that the onboard audio is done for? or are there any other solutions to my problem? Hope you can help. Motherboard is Gigabyte Aorus B450 Pro Wifi

I know this sounds like a reply from the mid 2000's but try using a sound card

Dang so there's really no way around this? I was hoping that I only missed something during troubleshooting but I guess all that's left is to simply use a sound card. Well, anyways, thanks.

If reseating all cables and connectors that might be faulty doesn't help, and if reinstalling the drivers doesn't help, it's possible that you've fried something on the MB while you were fiddling with it.

 

Solution: change the MB or invest in a sound card.

You might have broken something that is close to the amp or DAC ship on the mobo. There are these capasitors that might have broken

Yeah, that's what I thought when it first happened, but wanted to try quick fixes first before actually changing or buying anything, well now that that's confirmed, guess I'll have to deal with soundless playing for a while. Another hard lesson learned, well anyways, thanks guys.

Just to make sure I'm clear, any USB audio device whether it's a headset, interface or sound card functions separately from onboard audio, though I usually wouldn't ever suggest a cheap USB sound card it will fix this issue if you're not picky about quality.

I just realized now, after 6 months of use, my own monitor has it's own audio jack, and after 6 months of learning about PC hardware, I learn only now that a GPU has it's own separate on board audio. I saw this when I was looking at advanced setup and my monitor was outputting something. I would keep this in mind though as I AM very picky about sound quality.

I got really lucky this time but I messed up one part of my motherboard and this is something that really stings with me(I hate messing up lol) I was already very careful while fiddling with my motherboard but I guess one way or another, I was bound to mess up as I am still new to PC building. My initial problem might have not been solved, but I learned something new today. Well, for one last time, thanks guys
