Huh.  I was seeing 20+4 back in 2006 and it was considered a kind of throwback thing even then.

Think it might have been temperature of PSU since I put a 60 mm fan in the case drawing air in and pushing it down to the PSU and it’s been running for about 2hrs and hasn’t crashed yet but I’m gonna leave it running and see if anything changes and I’ll update this post tomorrow if anything changes

Sounds janky.  Functional but janky.  I don’t know whether I’d run my machine like that.  Would depend on how bad I needed it to work right then perhaps.  Spooky risky though.  When PSUs go they tend to fry random stuff connected to them which in this case is every part of your machine.  This one sounds like it’s very much on the way out.

Might want to put an order in for a new PSU ASAP.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

Yeah I think it needs replacing but until such time as I can source a new one it’s running fine but I will replace it ASAP
