I have an Asus Q525U with a cracked screen. While using the plastic opening tool in the ifix it kit to get this connector off, something lit up for a half second and burned the board in the pics included. Do you think this is repairable or am I going to need another motherboard?

I should add, it will power on but screen remains black.

You left the battery plugged in, didn't you? Bad idea.

Looks like you shorted some power stuff on the display connector. You aren't gonna be using the internal display anytime soon.

If the damage was isolated to that spot. It might be but it would look janky as you might need some wires to bypass the melted/damaged stuff. Otherwise, as mentioned above , you might need external connections instead.

Worst case scenario would be that, it damaged more parts than that exact spot.

I don't think so.

Looks like it cooked part of the circuitry under the PCB's coating, that almost always means it's a goner when burned like that. Note the bubbling of the board around the area, with that along with the burn spot I'd have to say it's time to replace it.
