Which SK61 im confused

732

Hello,

I was trying to find a new budget-ish keyboard on Amazon, and I came across the SK61. The RGB looks nice, it's waterproof, and it has Gateron Optical Reds.

So there's basically two brands, Epomaker and YunZii. The reviews I found on youtube are on the Geek SK61, which is actually the YunZii model.

My question is: is the Epomaker SK61 the same as the YunZii SK61?

Epomaker SK61: https://www.amazon.com/Epomaker-Bluetooth-Swappable-Mechanical-Waterproof/dp/B086DRJB3R/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=sk61&qid=1592240129&s=electronics&sr=1-6

Note: These are the cheapest ones on Amazon, the other Epomaker SK61 was $65 but with $15 shipping.

"hi 911? my grandma is on the floor and shes not responding to anything"
"have you tried turning it off and on again?"

Hey there. Took a look at both vendors. Physically, both boards seem to use the same PCB, keycaps, and switch types. Software-wise? Not sure. I believe SK61 uses some "Skyloong" software, which is distributed/handled here by 极客定制 (also Jikedingzhi, can be translated to "Geek Customized"). But Epomaker's and YunZii's driver download links are different, and each brand could have made slight modifications to the software to make the product "their own".

Not 100% sure, but I think the original SK61 was sold by Geek Customized/极客定制/Jikedingzhi? Geek Customized's Banggood listing seems to be older than both Epomaker and YunZii's Amazon listings, and the PCB has the 极客定制/Jikedingzhi brand name inked onto it. Just a hunch. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The words highlighted resemble the characters "极客定制", and "jikedingzhi.com".

Also, the SK61 is available in White/Gray or White/Pink keycap options.

Not the actual SK61 PCB, but it has the same silkscreen layout/design. Purely circumstantial evidence, of course.

TLDR: I think it's the same product, from different vendors. Unsure about the keyboard's software, though.
