Microsoft/Intel microcode update KB4497165 bricks my OC.

I've tried removing the update but seems like the CPU is still using the new microcode.

My multiplier is set to 41 in bios, but it's locked at 36 in windows. My voltage offsets are also missing in windows. All worked fine until yesterday when windows decided to update itself. This is the third time this has happened this year - i'm fucking upset at Intel pushes these "verified updates" that time and time again halts my performance. I've removed any recently installed updates but still cant get it to work.

Did Intel shit the bed so hard this time that I have to install Windows 10 again, AND i himage.thumb.png.95c070d55fae8c13442f3b0a95e1091b.pngave to do so with an older build? I Haven't made any recovery images and tried removing the updates but shit still won't wprk.

The update has nothing to do with your issue, unfortunately. They pushed that update to literally every user regardless of their hardware. Your processor isn't on the list, however: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4497165/kb4497165-intel-microcode-updates

So whatever is going on with your overclock is unrelated to the update.

No it can't be. Literally had this exact issue after last microcode patch, the one for meltdown and spectre. Literally the exact same issue as last time. It happened in the last 2 days, the update was installed 2 days ago. Can't imagine it not being the issue here. If i boot to an older windows drive the OC works just fine.
