if a motherboard that is one generation older than CPU, would the mobo bottleneck?
example:
x570 is created for ryzen 3000 series.

can ryzen 3000 series optimize on x470 mobo like x570 mobo?

if this is the case, would it be same for ryzen 4000 series running on x570 mobo?

well amd its trying to get 4000 series on b450 so theres a high possiblity both x470 and x570 will support series 4000

what about running amd 3000 series at its best on x470 mobo?

then running amd 4000 series at its best on x570 mobo?

no, that's not how it works...it doesnt matter.

If the CPU is supported, it'll perform the same on a chipset vs another.

| CPU: Core i7-8700K @ 4.89ghz - 1.21v  Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING  CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 |
| GPU: MSI RTX 3080Ti Ventus 3X OC  RAM: 32GB T-Force Delta RGB 3066mhz |

well if a got a b450 board and it could not get enough power to the cpu and that my new 4th gen pcie gpu would get 3rd gen pcie, it would not be as good as a x570 board

this is outside the topic for this question tho...im talking about equivalent board...for example a mid range 470 vs a mid range 570 board with similar power delivery etc.

Now, of course if you're talking a 3 phase board with VRM made out of candy versus a decent X570 board...the cheap board might trottle and stuff...yes...but that's another story.

what about vram? generally, the newer the mobo the better the vram?

VRAM is on the graphics card...you're talking about RAM?

then, same deal here...DDR4 3200mhz  will perform the same on a X470 board vs X570.

All you get wiht newer board is maybe a new design, and some extra supported features by the chipset...performance is THE SAME...across the board...the same.
