Howdy Everyone,

Upgrading the system to Windows 10 Pro and to purchase a "key" from Mickeysoft is an outrageous $199.00.  Heard thru the grapevine about a place called Kinguin but have not had any experience with them.  Anyone in the forums had any experience with Kinguin and if so, what your experience with them like?  Did they provide the service requested, was it a good experience, did you have to wait or were they prompt?  Even with Newegg, a "key" is $149 and even then it is a good chunk of cash.  I would really appreciate some feedback on the Kinguin experience before I dump a ton of money is something that I will only need once in a blue moon.  I have already done the upgrade so just looking for a "key" to activate it.

Thanks, have a nice weekend and be safe.

I bought two OEM keys from there and both were valid. I did have to use the automated phone method to active them but other than that, it's all good.

As far as I understand, you aren't really supposed to sell OEM keys like that so, it is kinda shady but hey, it's a lot cheaper than buying a normal key.

Thanks for the reply.

How did it work with Kinguin?  Did they send you an email with the key?  At least with an email I can print it and put it aside.  I have a bad habit of losing things.  Were they prompt or did you have to wait?  I have read some stories about having to wait four or five hours for the key to show up.  Say six months down the road I want to refresh my system and do a complete reinstall, can I use that same key again or do I need to purchase another key?  I would think I could just use it again, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Many thanks, be safe and have a nice weekend.

I bought my W10 key from there a few years ago, still using it, if I recall correctly you don't have to enter the activation key at all if you are re-installing windows.

They should have a library with your purchases in you account somewhere.

I don't remember how long it took to get the key but I think it was near instant, for me at least.

Good luck :)

If I use the same HDD with a windows install on it I can plug it in anywhere and just run my Windows on any rig, then again, my install is fairly non-standard so I can't make any promises for vanilla Windows.

I certainly wouldn't suggest buying a key from either Microsoft or a greymarket seller.
Though greymarket sellers are certainly cheaper the legitimacy/provenance of the keys is dubious at best.
If you're not afraid to dabble in the murky waters of greymarket sellers you shouldn't be afraid to seek out other options.

Now, piracy discussion here is bad and you'd never here me suggest piracy as a viable option.
Free services like KMS activation are a bad idea and you should never use them because piracy is bad.
Greymarket key selling is bad too though... sooooooooooooo.........

Sent you a PM, I've got some interesting info about greymarket stuff you might find funny.
